Vishwa Aadivashi Diwas-2011,Chaibasa


Vishwa Aadivashi Day-2011
A cultural program on world Aadivashi day-2011 was organized on 9th of august combinedly by Janmadhyam and Ho kala sangam in the hall of Ravindra bhavan, Chaibasa.

The program was as follow:-

Inauguration of books: -


Lok jeevan ki smritiyan (folk tale),Hulgulan ren veer saheed ko(Ho-munda-santhali)

Honor function :- Research on indigenous society, for the study and guidance.

Subject of discussion:- Identity of Aadivashi and their dignity.

Prize distribution:- Sanskritik Gyan pratiyogita -2011.

Inauguration of books:-

Two books namely “Lok jeevan ki

smritiyan(folk story-Santhali, Mundari and Ho)” and “Hulgulan ren veer saheed ko(Santhali, Mundari and Ho) was inaugurated during the program. The inauguration was done by Dr. Ashok kumar sen, veteran cultural thinker Shamvu charan Tubid, Dr.Padmaja sen, Purna Chandra banra, smt.Vimla Pareya and shree Guna devgam. Janmadhyam’s Praveen kumar shed light on the book and told that the identity of Aadivashi is hidden in the life style of Aadivashi’s.

The most important work is to write down on Aadivashi’s or record it and handover it to the upcoming generation. To fulfill the purpose publication on biography of the martyrs and famous folk tales has been done. So that children can know about their origin, history and can understand their society.

Honor function:-

In the honor function Dr.Ashok kr.sen was honored with a shawl by Ex-IPS Mr.S.C.Tubid. Janmadhyam’s Pravin and Ho kala sangam’s Dobro budiwali honored him by explaining his works, devotion and research in Aadivashi life and literature. They described about the PhD research subject of Dr. Sen i.e., “Role of middle class intellectuals in the development of nationalism During 1800 and1885.” They described how Dr. Sen worked for success university on the projects “The east India company and the natural world: environment, innovation and ideas at the core of the British Empire.”Description of his article on national and international magazines was given.

Subject of discussion:- the identity of Aadivashis and their dignity. On this topic Dr. A.K.Sen said that there is a need of deep research on indigenous society. The developed languages have much more creations than which are not developed. The language of indigenous society is not developing due to lack of collection of articles, poetries and research publication. This is the time for the collection of subjects of language and literature for the development of the indigenous society.

Sambhu charan Tubid said that the society develops by the means of education.

Guna Devgam said that the main identity of indigenous people is worship of nature. Along with that he explained the importance of Ho language.Smt. Vimla Pareya said that to make continuity in the development of indigenous people it is necessary to develop language and literature along with mother language.

Dr. Padmaja Sen said that to maintain the identification of indigenous people on international level social consciousness should be done in more powerful manner. To establish written history and culture, it is very necessary to establish folk stories of various aspects of stories and folk songs.

Purna Chandra Banra Ex-Military man said that to save the identity and belief of indigenous people it is important to accept the important values of society.

Prize distribution:-


After that the winner of Sanskritik Gyan Pratiyogita-2011 were rewarded by the guests. Reward for the competition that was organized in nearby forest department compound in Tambo chowk ,Chaibasa on last 7th of august. In the competition, Chandrashekhar Tamsoy came first .He is doing P.G (Anthropology) from Tata college Chaibasa. kamlesh Jonko of the same college came in the second position. Mani Alda came third. Laxman Hembram and Swati Purti came in the fourth position together. The fifth and constellation position was held jointly by Sukhmati Bari, Arjun Tamsoy and Kirlotskar Birwa. An essay competition on “Ero porob” was also organized and the winners of the competition was also rewarded.

Cultural program:-

After that the time for the cultural program came. Many students sang songs in Ho and Mundari language. Girl participants sang songs in regional language. Few more young artists enchanted the crowd with songs in local tone. Everyone was enjoying the performances. Jitendra Mahato of Janmadhyam also sang a song in Ho language-“juri gaati tainabu”, means we will live together. It was the impact and attraction of Ho language that the person who has no far or near relation with this language learnt it and sang during the four day program of Janmadhyam in Chaibasa.

Thanks Giving:-After that Pravin Kumar of Janmadhyam and Dobro Budiwali of Ho kala sangam thanked all of them for making the event a grand success. Everyone enjoyed the program and learnt a lot from it. Everyone took an oath and wished for a developed and well educated Jharkhand where culture and languages would have no danger of extinction.
